Weekend Itinerary

Stayed: Archer Hotel

Day 1

  • Joseph Phelps @ 1pm - LOVED this one, they're a little snotty but the wine and outside area is fantastic

  • Chimney Rock - we came here after and walked in; different style but they couldn't be more accommodating & the woman we had let us try way more than we paid for

  • Dinner: Charter Oak

    • Nominee for best new restaurant for James Beard award and chef was one of Food and Wine's best new chefs of 2018

    • Highly recommend

Day 2

  • Hall Rutherford Winery @ 11am; hard to get into because they see very few people each day and expensive, but definitely worth it; they take you through the cellar in the bottom and then private room for tasting

  • Lunch at Rutherford Grill - great spot and outdoor area (will probably be a wait) but french dip sandwich is amazing

  • Cakebread Winery @ 3:30pm - liked but didn't love; definitely the most commercial one we visited

  • Dinner: Ad Hoc

    • Thomas Keller restaurant; family style menu that change daily with salad, meat entree, cheese course, and dessert for $55

Day 3

  • Schramsberg @ 10am - very unique winery where you walk through the caves; focus on sparkling wine

  • Lunch at Gott's Roadside - definitely go here if you can and try to get there before noon, you avoid the rush; great burgers, fries, onion rings, and tater tots

  • Stags' Leap @ 2pm - make sure you go to Stags' (there are two different ones; the Stags' one has better wine and more intimate but the other one isn't bad by any means...just depends on what you're looking for)

  • Mustard's Grill - classic spot that everyone will tell you to go to and you should if you can; pork chop is a must

Day 4

  • Hot air balloon - pickup at 6:15am at hotel and return at 10:30am

  • Brunch at Bouchon Bakery - egg sandwiches (famous for english muffins)
