Nashville

Stayed: Noelle Nashville (if you are a Starwood member, you can use points!)  We really enjoyed our stay - the lobby turned more sceney at night but was a fun place to get a drink.  The Drug Store is connected to the hotel serving very good coffee.

Activities: Country Music Hall of Fame, Broadway, The Gulch, Vanderbilt, 12th South

Restaurants/Bars visited:

  • Biscuit Love - awesome casual, Southern style spot for brunch located in The Gulch; no reservations and prepare for a 1-2 hour wait
    • Bonuts: fried biscuit dough, lemon marscapone, and blueberry compote
    • East Nasty: buttermilk biscuit, fried boneless chicken thigh, aged cheddar, sausage gravy + fried egg
    • BEC: buttermilk biscuit, sweet & spicy thick cut bacon, fried egg, aged cheddar
  • Merchants Restaurant - located on Broadway with two levels (we sat downstairs which was less formal); you can make a reservation on OpenTable (60 days out) or prepare for 1+ hour wait for two people; bar seating is first come, first serve
    • Baked pimiento cheese with chips
    • Steak salad with mixed greens, goat cheese, pickled red onion, cherry tomatoes, red wine vinaigrette
    • Chicken sandwich: white cheddar, bacon, arugula, tomato, avocado, spicy ranch
    • Overall, great spot for casual food after being on Broadway and solid cocktail list
  • Edley's - we went to the one located in 12 South and highly recommend this location; expect a long wait especially after 12pm on the weekends
    • Brisket platter
    • Ribs platter (only available at dinner)
    • Sides: mac n cheese, potato salad, cornbread, banana cream pudding
    • Bushwacker
    • Outside seating and TVs at the bar
  • Acme Feed & Seed - first floor has live music and great open rooftop
  • Butchertown Hall
  • Rolf & Daughters - a perfect date night spot in Germantown; walk-ins are available but I suggest making a reservation on Resy (reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance)
    • Sourdough, seaweed butter - a must order to star
    • Sweet potato, nduja butter, allium, lime
    • Winter squash agnolotti, hon shimeji, creme fraiche, pecan (this was by far our favorite)
    • Garganelli verde, heritage pork ragout, uni butter, breadcrumbs
    • Dessert: sweet potato ice cream sandwich with coffee and marshmallow and the chocolate tart - liked but didn't LOVE
  • Hattie B's - it opens at 11am and around 12pm on the weekends lines can be 1-2 hours long; you can order ahead and pick it up and still eat there (somewhat frowned upon)
