Australian Cafe $$

Resy 20 days in advance for dinner only and 6+ people (& not on Sunday or Monday)

Walk-ins with texting

Happy Hour 4pm-7pm, $5 beers, $7 wines, $8 cocktails

Another Australian cafe similar to Bluestone Lane with various bowls (sweet & savory) and egg & toast options.  It's an open air restaurant, which is great when the weather cooperates and there are several coffee shops nearby to visit while you wait.  If you put your name in between 11 and noon for four people, you'd get a table in ~45 minutes to an hour, for reference.

Compared to Bluestone Lane, Banter offers more (and unique) options on its All Day menu including a pulled pork sandwich, falafel bowl, and thyme mushroom toast.  Breaking down the avocado toast, Banter's has goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, micro basil, and toasted pepitas with herb oil (which tastes like pesto) vs. BSL's heirloom cherry tomatoes (it is different), feta cheese, and sunflower sprouts.  On the price front, BSL tacks on $1 more for both the toast and bacon (which you can split), while both charge $3 for an egg.  Overall, I prefer the coffee at Bluestone Lane and their menu only goes until 6pm while Banter offers a dinner menu starting at 5:15pm.  Now please go get this and tell me it's not the best, most not basic, avocado toast in the city.
