51 Grove St.
Italian spot from the owners of Buvette and i Sodi with mid $20 entrees and a wide selection of vegetable dishes. The food is special and different from most Italian restaurants in West Village (and there are A LOT). Considering they have 15+ vegetables on the menu, I’d focus on those and the pastas (cacio e pepe is unreeeeeal) + any specials that night. We ordered two vegetables, two pastas, and the octopus for three people, which was perfect (could have done without one vegetable if we wanted to).
Waits can get ridiculous….especially on the weekends and they usually get to a point where they stop taking names for the night. Best bet is putting your name in with a small group on a week night if you’re feeling a little more expensive meal (but still expect a wait) or going super early (even before 6pm sometimes). They don’t text you so if it’s over 30 minutes, plan on going somewhere else.
